Bearing Off Against a Back Game: Clearing Is Not Clear

I thought clearing the 6pt was clear. I quickly played 6/5 6/3. At the score (on the left), volunteering with 6/5 3/Off is best, while for money (on the right), 5/4 3/Off is best.

Who would have known?
