I think hit 2 and make the 3pt is best. You are fav to make a 3pt board if missed, and that's formidable with 4 checkers back against nothing on the other side, but if hit you have a good chance to make your advanced anchor.

While running all the way to hit twice gives extra covers when missed and more returns from the bar if you are hit, it doesn't compensate for the resulting position when that happens.

Making your 3pt also unloads the 8pt.
