There are interesting decisions from the opening roll of a long match. Even a cube from the 1 to the 2 level may be interesting. Whether that is "exciting" or not is up to the individual but isn't the mental challenge a key reason you play?

I think you have previously argued that skill should more be greatly rewarded. Do you realize this rule does the opposite of that.

I feel a little sorry for you wasting so much of your time without excitement but if you really don't get excited until the end of the match is in sight why not argue for best 2 out of 3 five or seven point matches instead of one longer match?
