Respect others in the same way you too would like to be respected - regardless of the rating. OTOH, treat each opponent according to "FEEL" and "COMMON SENSE". Over the course of a game there will be difficult plays, so if you or your opponent take several seconds more over some decisions then there should be a non-verbal mutual respect and understanding. Personally, I can play as fast as a slug (equal to Stick's pace) or faster than it takes NK ordering a BK in real time. I'd hate to live on the difference.
