Blue is Player 1XGID=aBbGCA-B--------------aef-:0:0:1:53:0:0:0:1:10 Blue to play 53
M y initial reaction, after discovering that there is no 5 and no safe play, is to avoid leaving 2 blots. Moving 4/1 fits the bill. It leaves 1 blot and 15 shots. The QF option is to break the bar point while the opponent is on the roof. Doing so leaves 2 blots and 17 shots. Because 5 is duplicated, the only extra shots come on a roll of 61. Considering that the opponent’s board is crashed, this play deserves serious consideration.
Assuming you hold the bar point this turn, and are not hit, these are the rolls that leave a blot on the next turn.
- 1 blot: 33, 41, 43, 55, 61, 63, 64
- 2 blots: 51, 53, 65
For the price of 2 extra immediate shots, I’ll go with 7/4.
Mike
P.S. Thanks for being my CSS guinea pigs! When you zoom in to 200% or so, the text block should drop down below the board diagram. Will luck, this works on a cell phone, as well.
