I wasn't thinking about how correct it was to make the play, only that it was clear. Picking up to the deuce kills yet another checker when your offensive formation is anything but pretty. You still have to bring this holding game home when you are missed and 11, 7* will go a long way in that direction. When you're missed you should easily be able to make the bar point since it's still slotted or perhaps get lucky and make the 5pt in the process. You need one of these points in front of that 21pt anchor if you ever hope to have a cube. I'm sure even though it's two blots compared to one it is also easier to safety both blots by having them work as a team than to leave one semi stranded in the opp's outfield.
