My rollout confirms that the pick and pass play in the original position (and 3a 3a) is indeed utter shite:

1st 16/11 8/7* +0.5955 2nd ace pt +0.3394 3rd 16/11 2/1 +0.2894 4th pick & pass +0.2410

1296 games, 3 ply, cube XG Roller. (Sorry, don't know how to post rollout.)
