World Championship Format

I take exception when anyone categorically says anything is just not possible.

Sure it is possible. Is it easy? No. I'm confident a methodology satisfactory to most could be developed.

I like the best of three format because I think it calls on all elements of the game to be used more frequently than does a single long match. It also, in my opinion, minimizes the impact to the outcome of a single, freak large cube game -- or a gammon or freak bg on a 2 or 4 cube. I know many feel the way I do. Others, others of note, disagree. Bill Robertie has done extensive study on the topic and feels quite strongly that a longer match favors a better player more than 2 out of 3.
