Some Bio Info About New World Champ Slava

In Response To: Congratulations to the New World Champion (svilo)

I first met Slava two years ago. I believe he is probably in his late 30s. Born in Ukraine, he now lives in Monaco. He plays mostly poker and as far as I know, he does not play in backgammon tournaments other than the World Championships in Monte Carlo. He keeps himself in very good physical condition, which is helpful when playing long hours of poker or backgammon.

I played with him in a chouette, and I can say that he is a strong, fearless, tough competitor when playing for high stakes. His PR in his semifinal match was about 4.4, and I believe his long-term average PR is probably in the low 4s.

Congratulations to Slava, 2013 World Backgammon Champion!
