When you are winning these positions without leaving the shot, it is usually right to lift when you can't bearoff a spare. However, it is bad to create a stack of four in a post-acepoint game. And it is worse to create a stack of five. Your plan is to remove spares while holding all points. Stacks leave fewer numbers which accomplish this efficiently. So, with this close call, I would play 9-1 staying diversified with great prospects when white misses. Move the spare on the three to the ace and I would play it safe with 9-3, 5-3.
