Good ruling/Bad Rule

If I see an illegal move, I will say something like "play it legally". If my opponent sees the mistake, understands what I mean and corrects it, there is no reason to stop the game or the clock. If there is any disagreement or confusion about the illegal claim, at that point the clock can be stopped. The burden of claiming disagreement or confusion should be on the player making the illegal play.

Backgammon is an action game. Let's keep it moving unless there is reason to stop it.
