I play 13/9 - I want to keep my checkers in front of white's runners. 8/4 is tempting, making a permanent asset, but it makes it harder to clear the midpoint and I think the four point will get made in due time anyway. Safe plays that bury checkers seem anti-positional. And the back men aren't going anywhere any time soon.
