Good ruling/Bad Rule

I want to play legally if possible, at all times.

I have found that if I do make an illegal play (accidentally), its because I was thinking that "If I roll X-Y then that would be great" or "I hope I dont roll a A-B, that would be awful". Then when one of the die that I rolled turns up to be the most recent numbers I was thinking about, and if the other happens to look similar to the other half of that thought up roll, then I occasionally auto-pilot the play I had concocted in my head for that roll.

Thats a long way of saying - most typically we think of better rolls for ourselves, and most typically will play something that more often has a positive equity outcome - IF there is an illegal play. Mechanics will naturally more tend to that.
