I doubt there's an objective answer to these questions. And where "longevity" even rates in the discussion of who is the greatest of all time is a matter of individual taste.

I don't think many people would argue right here and now that Nadal is the GOAT. (The greatest on clay, sure.) The question of what he would have to do to surpass Federer is similar to the question of what LeBron would have to do to supplant Jordan as the greatest basketball player ever. Presumably it's at least possible, but I don't think you really know it until you see it.
