In Response To: Cube action ATS? (Daniel Murphy)

Hello Daniel I apologise for my tardy message. I am now using voice recognition which will improve things

You seem to be missing the whole point of my message. The point I'm trying to put across is that you don't have to be a BG savant to get to the best play. I am indeed aware that there are 24 hitting rolls. You will notice I put 60% + purely to emphasise the point that one does not have to be precise and to the nth degree.

If whites double is accepted whether they hit or not there will be a natural progression for Brown to return the cube for 8. An offer that white cannot refuse. This fact obviates any Gammon thoughts. In any event there is more chance of you seeing a pig flying across the window than Brown getting a Gammon. Having said that others one day may see that very pig fly. I agree it is good housekeeping to play for a Gammon if technically there is a chance. This fact often frustrates one's opponent who keeps offering to resign unaware that you are looking for a small miracle.

Your section on MWC and doubling Windows is all very interesting if one has pen and paper and maybe a pint of beer and a pork pie to help chew the fat. I've never played live but I'm thinking such behaviour would not be acceptable over the table . On a lighter vein I have seen the pigs. On two occasions with one man left to play sitting on the bar against a full board I have lost .
