Cubeless vs. No Cube
Cubeless means to make a rollout without using the cube, but then calculate “cubeful” equities at the end, by apply the Janowski formula. No cube means just that. No doubles, no Janowski, no “cubeful”, no nothing. Gammons and backgammons, however, still apply.
My post from July explains how to set them up.
By the way, experts like Neil and Stick generally avoid anything less than a 3-ply rollout.
In my work assembling rollouts for the XG Opening Book, I have come to have a healthy disrespect for the many rollouts we are replacing that use only “2-ply, cube decisions: 3-ply Red.”
