Hitting feels right here.

We don't want to get pointed on.

And if we're going to leave a shot, let's at least do something useful.

6/4* seems clear.

Then it's a question of the 6.

We're not slotting 8/2. 13/7 jeopardizes another checker when we're looking to get our checker out. 24/18 is what's left. That dupes 4's and often has us getting hit only once with chances of return shots or the chance to anchor up on the bar point.

24/18, 6/4* That's my $ play. 3a3a (Phil - it is easier than saying 4-4 to 7) seems close enough here.

Running all the way was a thought but it seems like virtually everything hits. That might not be terrible - when we don't get hit its great and when we get hit we often have returns and we have mostly avoided having out opponent make another point. I might have thrown my hands up and just run and said "the hell with it" OTB. Maybe it's less gammonish but might be more likely to induce getting cubed.
