Sorry for not responding before, I was planning too but did not get round to it. This is the type of position where I know what the rollout is going to say, so I could get it right OTB by mimicking the expected rollout result. But if you'd ask me to articulate why 20/18 20/17 is better than 20/15 or 6/1, I would not be able to answer, so I don't understand the position.

My instinct would be to play 6/1 and leave from the anchor next turn, after the midpoint checker is gone and it is safer to move up. Is 6/1 too much of a liability in the variations where White runs from the anchor? Or is the problem that White might make a point, and that we'd need to run from the anchor facing a strong a strong board? All of the above? None of the above?
