There's just no need to rub it in the faces of those we want to rejoin backgammon.

I don't think making retirees your target audience is a good long-term strategy for growth of the game.

Let's try to walk a fine line and grow backgammon by letting everyone think that while they aren't "as good" that they still have a reasonable chance.

Now that everyone has access to bots, how many potential customers do you expect to fool? Of those who you are going to manage to fool for the time being, how many do you expect to keep once they learn the truth?

In my uneducated opinion, backgammon should be catered as an exciting contest where everyone can have their share of short-term success, but considerable skill (and thus hard work needed to attain it) is required to enjoy success in the long term.
