Congratulations and great news. The USBGF has been a great, positive force in the US and I am sure your organization will do the same in the UK.

The next step is to form a single, international organization that functions as an umbrella for all the organizations. We need an international organization for many reasons:

1. To establish rules and policy that are consistent world wide; 2. Each organization has to reinvent the wheel, and a tremendous amount of work is being duplicated. Many talented people are working hard doing things to benefit backgammon in their own country that could be replicated internationally.

3. An international group should be able to attract more attention and sponsorship.

One piece of advice: it will take some time for your organization to become truly effective, as there will certainly be individuals who, because of personal agenda, ego, or simply because they fight anything new and different, will not support your organization, or will even work to undermine you. You simply need to be patient and ignore these people as much as possible and keep doing things that are best for the growth and health of the game, and eventually you will garner support from most of the backgammon lovers in your country.

Just don't waste too much time fighting with or trying to appease the people who are negative and stubborn.
