In the first position I'd play 13/8. Not really sure why, but XG seems to like that when you get a 41 to play and there's nothing good to do with it. 24/23 doesn't accomplish anything so might as well play 13/8 - unstack the bloated midpoint and don't give white any good shots.

In the second I'd split. With 2 checkers on the 24 point splitting accomplishes a lot. 24/23 13/9
