If I were to hit, it would be by playing 15/14*/9. That way, White might have to hit when he recycles one of his checkers.

Leading by 62 pips, hitting may be a mistake. A 62-pip deficit is acceptable, but on the low side, for a backgame.

OTB, I would try 20/15 7/6.
