CT tournament review - brief

Ross and staff did a pretty good job first time out.

He solicited a great deal of info prior to the tournament from other players and directors and it showed.

There were a few late starts (30 minutes - not bad), one interruption of the advanced tournament about 5 minutes into that start and a weird 24-person bracket for 22 players (rather than giving buys in a round of 32), which created a weird late round bye for the last 3 in the main.

But those were the only problems I saw. And they were relatively minor - especially given that it was a first tournament run by Ross.

Clocks were mandatory in the open, masters and doubles. Registrations were taken efficiently. Draws were handled well. Everyone was pleasant - the tournament staff, at least.
