Impossible Move in Connecticut

Are there many players in the US who would have taken advantage of the rules like Herb did?

If so, then I can understand why so many prefer to play legal moves.

In Herb's shoes I would have ignored that you hit the clock first before lifting the hit checker.

The way you describe the incident it sounds to me like it was all done in one motion and not like you first overlooked the hit and then realized your mistake after you hit the clock.
