No Rule Has Been Altered

There is general agreement that two players can agree to play legal moves in an otherwise non-legal-moves tournament. Are there any other rules that can be similarly altered?

When two players agree to play legal moves, they have not altered any rule. The rules already allow a player to require that an illegal move be corrected. The agreement they make is that they will both systematically choose to correct such moves.

The agreement is not binding on the tournament director. If a player later reneges, and requires that an illegal move be allowed to stand, he will have the backing of the TD. He will also, of course, lose a friend and his honor in the process.

Your question is therefore a little trickier that it first appears. Are there any other decisions that the rules allow a player to make that two players might agree ahead of time to systematically resolve a certain way?

I do not know.
