I had this position against David Rockwell in Peoria. Not sure of the score so its presented here as a money game. 16/6 wins 2% more but the hit wins 11% more net gammons which makes it the better play. After 16/6, Black has 23 hits and will often make a 6 prime of his own in a roll or two. If you then enter right away, the timing will be against you.
After 7/1x with the six, 7/3 is better than 6/2 with the four. Don't want to leave that extra blot dangling on the 7-point.
I played 16/6 OTB.
