But at the time of the win neither player had a checker off. So shouldn't they both be credited with a backgammon win times half the cube value (or half of one if Crawford game) and each get 1.5 points.

This leads me to the next question. Suppose the score had been 2a 3a at the time of that occurrence. The score would then be 0.5away 1.5away. Is that the Crawford game?
