Sacrificing Equity

I am interested in the following mental experiment: You are playing in a tournament. For every move and cube decision someone is whispering you the alternative plays into your ear, giving you the exact equity for every choice. The equity was generated by very intense rollouts from GNU Backgammon at its best settings.
How much equity would you be willing to give away despite your knowledge of the best choice because
- another move better suits your "style" or
- your opponent is stronger or weaker than you or
- for other reasons?
Very interested what the experts think about this.
