In Response To: OT: Article about Chess World Championship (Michael Petch)

Applying this to BG, does anyone really think that the last few winners of Monte Carlo are the best players in the world? What if there was a Grand Slam of Backgammon? Take 4 major tourneys, such as Monte Carlo, the Nordic, Japan and maybe Vegas and devise some sort of point system. Would that be better or worse than what we have now?
