Feels to me like its a sacrifice play - sacrifice one of the blots in order to get the acepoint slotted now. Then later on, you can make the ace, creating the safe point.

So remove the white checker from our own ace, in order to make it later.

I wouldnt have made this play OTB - like just about everyone else, I would have waited to roll a 32, 11, 21, 22, or something much better to try and save it.
