The box does not have to take ALL cubes on an initial cube- let me amend this: Each chouette has its own rules- I played in a chouette for many years- the box had to take the majority of cubes to continue play(if 6 players- 5 cubes to box...box must take at least 3 to continue play. If you're a stronger player, you should like being in the box. You're playing the captain( weaker player), and he has no help until team member doubles.Team advantage- more eyes.less likely to miss a hit,etc-Team members, however, can disagree over plays and not play a game that makes sense.
