A final word for Leo so as to not leave the matter "up in the air"

Here are a couple more examples:

Say you're in the box, and the team consists of:

CFPPP, where C = Captain, F = Fish, P = Player

If you keep the box, the next captain will be the fish. You would really like to play the fish for 5 cubes - especially if your chouette is playing no consulting until doubled!

You can substitute F with S, where S = Steaming player.

Also, in any case there's a steamer (or big fish) anywhere in the team (apart from the Captains position), you would prefer to play that person. You get zero added equity playing on the team with steamers and fish. That all goes to the box. (Except if you play with some sort of mandatory prop rule).

Obviously, you'll have to be one of the stronger players in the chouette, for the above scenarios to yield a positive result.

And as stated by Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Rice and others, it will also be a difficult calculation put equities on, and you'll have to be very careful not to overestimate your advantage (and by doing so, make errors that are so big, they dilute your advantage). But the scenarios clearly exits. Very analogue to adjusting your play vs. a weak opponent.

I would also expect, that there do exist scenarios in which it could be positive equity to drop a take in order to get out of the box! The circumstances for this, could be full consulting allowed, the next captain up be either a very strong player, or one that will be able to make optimal team plays from a team containing a very strong player. And also a prop-rule would help here. Then you could end up, preferring to play just one cube in the next game, but still having the option to catch errors in the props.

Cheers,
Henrik
