Your example here is not representative of the position - you are using a position that remains odd at the back, whereas NK's position remains even. The feature here that you need to consider is also how often does it repeat.

There are also variations where you also have to consider the 'get out of my hair' angle - you want opp to not have continuing repeaters, and you also have the option to hit them. In those positions, you may also consider hitting because the re-entry numbers may have them entering higher than your problem point. If I had access to XG or GNU I would post you an example or two.
