In Response To: Touch-Move Side event at the Chicago Open (Keene)

There is a big difference between suggesting a rule change and suggesting a way to play a side event. I love backgammon-to-lose as a side event, but it would be a terrible rule change. I love legal moves as a rule change, but would I enter a side event just because it allowed legal moves? I love counting the dice as legal when they land flat on top of the checkers. If there was a side event that allowed that, that would not be enough reason to get me to enter that side event.

I would enter a side event where you had to take a shot of vodka after every roll, but I would hate to see that as a rule change for normal match play.
