XG Question — What is 3-ply Red?

For a long time I have been aware of the 3-ply Red options offered by XG. I just don't know what they are!

In this post, Xavier refers to two flavors:

The formula also matches well "2-ply/3-ply Red Ro" and full "3-ply Red" RO

Can anyone steer me towards the defintions?
