Well, you got 3 out of 4.

How the h*** can so many people here think it's fair, to have two players take a break, while only one player's clock is running?!

I recall having had this discussion before. I'm almost sure it was here at BGO.

If the TD have a problem TD'ing his tournament properly, and as a result feel a need to time breaks, he should simply put a small 5 minute hour-glass on each table... When you take a break, you place the hour-glass on the board (so everyone can see that a there's a match on break). If you're not back before the time runs out, your opponent can start your clock (which would require that he's back)!
