In Response To: Only backgammon of every sport in the world? (Rod)

A related question: If backgammon switched from the once-every-two years Giants vote that only identifies the top 64,to a once-a-week world ranking based on results that identifies the top 2000, would that increase participation in live tournaments? I contend yes. Down the road it might even motivate sponsors to subsidize tournaments. That would be nice.
