Trash, your sorry tail! Hickey's Postulate always applies, because BG is always a race :0)

(But its main applications are sometimes* hitting extra checkers when you don't "need them", and sometimes* bearing off aggressively even when you don't "have to". A lot of people still safe up a roll or two too soon. And oh yeah, running to save the gammon instead of staying for an unlikely hit, when "you should save it anyway." Gammon-saving races are never won, either!)

* Always say "sometimes", or the server will go down as people pile on with exceptions.

But back to the problem: I agree that this is a good time and a good way to deal with that back checker, and I also agree with Igor that it might buy us time to clear the outfield points. It also might let us steal the 5 point leaving only indirects. Good things happen when you hit stuff.
