This seems a false dichotomy to me - the art of looking at a bot analysis is to make the correct inferences that the position (and it's close cousins) dictates, and therefore, learning the "why" of it as you go; and looking at a position in a bot post-match is, imho, a (significantly) more efficient way of learning than "actual" play, game for game, or hour for hour. Harder work, but more efficient. Bot analysis *IS* the 'hard way'.
