I could see this as a good front end for a database of positions that one could maintain themselves - similar to flash cards.

Actually, this is exactly what I want. Every time I play a match, I can feed in XGIDs of positions that I've missed, and then have it quiz me. Because I make whoppers at an astonishing rate, I would quickly build a database around which I could quiz myself.

Then I'd want it to report to me my sequence of rights and wrongs as I re-encounter the problem. I could then decide, for instance, if I'd gotten the problem right the last N times I'd seen it, then I could cull it from the database.
