Courageous effort, Mr. Majestyk. It was the fifth, sixth and seventh roll moves where your Nactation choices went (A)drift.

White's play of 24/23 24/20 is nactated U (Up),which is the primary member of the U family (also known as the UV family). You used the secondary member V, which stands for "Variant up." In this position, with only one legal up play, it's unimportant, but it's useful to understand the difference for when it does matter. Refer to positions #18–20 at the link provided below.

Blue's play of 13/8 11/5* can be areally nactated with the letter O (Outer), meaning to make half the play into (or within) the outer board, and the other half out of the outer board.

It is more common to use the style letter H (Hit) for this play. (By the hit-more-6 rule, hitting on the 5pt gets the capital H, and hitting on the 2pt the lower case H.) The down convention dicates that the other half of the roll (the 5) is played down. Or, without conventions, you can use assumption: the best hitting play is obvious.

"A" stands for "Attack," but that's just a loose way of remembering it; it is often but not always an attacking play. "A" has a specific areal definition: to move half the play from outer board to inner board, and the other half entirely within the inner board. In this position, "A" means 11/5* 6/1.

I recommend that you go to the Nactation tutorial and use the index on the final two pages that lists the position #(s) where you can find the definition and explanation for any letter (or symbol). Even better (faster), use "bookmarks," a cool, powerful navigation tool that is explained on the second page of the Introduction. So far, you would do well to review U, V, O, H and A.

Here, you can choose to nactate either White's entire play (bar/20* 13/7), or just her non-entering portion (13/7).

For the entire play, you can use Z (reverse split): White moves the smaller number (the 5) on her far side, and comes down with the larger number (the 6). Or, by convenience clause, you may use S (Split). You might recall that S or Z was a similarly good choice for the 24/23 14/9 play in your earlier post. See positions #6 and #7, and use bookmarks (or the final index) to find additional examples.

If you choose to nactate just White's non-entering portion of 13/7, you can use numeral "7" (7pt). Or you can use D (Down), as I used in the subject header of this post.

As before, you can nactate the entire play or just the non-entering portion. For the entire play, use X (hit and split) or E (Each). For just the non-entering portion, use H (Hit), I (Inside) or possibly 5 (5pt). Blue cannot legally play A, though it wasn't hard to figure out what you meant.

Incidentally, if Blue were instead to play bar/24 8/5*, the proper Nactation would be x or C (entire play), or h or J (non-entering portion).

Your choice of U (Up) for White's bar/24 23/20* is perfectly fine. I have included this position only to point out that it is more common to use the style alternative when a play is obvious, which in this case is H (Hit). I'm reminded of 24/14* from your earlier post; you chose R (Run) instead of the usual H (Hit).

In your final position, Blue has 41 to play. I agree with onur alan that $ (Slot, 15/11 6/5) looks best.

Once you learn how to use bookmarks (try it, it's easy), you'll be able to improve your Nactation faster. In the meantime, keep up the good work!
