Pre-51 puzzle

In the Nactation tutorial, the only position without a captioned sequence is #56 (the "variant" of #55), on page 65 and shown above. Can you find a sequence starting from the opening position for which all moves are "well played" (best or within .02 of best)?

I found a workable sequence of 30 rolls (i.e., 51 is the 30th roll). If someone finds a shorter one, please let me know and I'll include it (instead of my own) in the next tutorial update.

A shorter version of this puzzle is: What might have been White's last move (just prior to Blue's current roll of 51), and what might have been Blue's move before that? (Extra credit for going back additional rolls.) Remember, we are assuming both sides played well.
