No Responders Have Yet Mentioned The Best Plays

In Response To: Two Tough Checker Plays (Paul Weaver)

Thanks to all who have responded thus far, especially Mishy Poo, whom I once had the pleasure of meeting in person (Vegas 2012). No one has yet mentioned the best play in either of these positions. Like I said in the subject line, these are tough. I screwed them both up over the board; I did not even consider the best play in either position.
