A spare on the 2pt would increase our chances to make the ace point. That's an argument for playing 6/2. Unfortunately, moving 6/2 fails to bring a checker home and, because it delays the bear in, would make that task harder. Worse, it would burn a spare on the 6pt that we may need later when we try to clear the outside points.

We don't necessarily need to make the 1pt (at least not right away). What we need is to complete the bear in safely. 7/3 is the move that best addresses that goal.

In the O (Outer) Nactation family, one die is played to a destination in the *outer* board, while the other is played out. Under the Hit-More-Six rule, O (Outer) = 13/9 7/1* gets the capital letter because, of course, it hits! That leaves the lower case letter to o = 13/7, 7/3.

o (outer) = 13/3
