Abolish the Last Chance !

Mochy,

I believe that you have it backwards. Yes, it is sad to hear the director calling names out on Sunday morning. Yes, we are all tired, sleepy, family, work tomorrow.

But the answer isn't just to toughen up and play. The tournament structure is supposed to be designed to provide the best possible experience to the players. After all, we are the ones paying. It is the directors who should adjust to accommodate the players. Not the other way around.

The solution is to abolish the Last Chance forever. What is the logic of forcing people to commit an extra day for such a small amount of EV ? I believe that it would be much more reasonable to have bigger prizes for the top spots and no Last Chance . If people want to play on Sunday, design an interesting 1 day event for them. This would not just benefit the players, but the organizers would be able to make a little extra income by raking an additional event. Plus, this structure might actually draw a few additional players who don't enter due to Sunday scheduling conflicts.
