Correct on both counts. I'm referring to the hit that I think is better and which has come out ahead of the other hit in the 3-ply RO - hitting and slotting the 5.

The +/+ RO could certainly end up with the hit being better even after 1296. It will still probably be +/-0.015 for each. Both plays lead to long drawn out games so I can't see any difference OTB in playing one over the other. Pure XG analysis.
