BACKGAMMON PLAYERS !!
Thanks to all who attend and support the Texas Backgammon Championships.
Tara Mendicino and I may be the names and faces associated with the tournament but the great success of the tournament belongs to many.
All of those attending and those otherwise supporting the tournament through viewing the streamed matches, etc. are the tournament.
This year the tournament could not be accomplished without the contributions of Butch and Mary Ann Sokol Meese, Rynell Nunez, Connie Burns Riles, Pierre Mendicino, Pj Simborg, and Masayuki Mochizuki.
Butch and Mary Ann worked tirelessly to assist in the accomplishment of the event. No one is more beloved, and deservedly so, in the backgammon community. Rynell takes care of all of the streaming w/ little, if any, required assistance. The backgammon community loves and appreciates her. We know the streaming is in great hands with Rynell and we don't have to provide her assistance -- she arranges the matches to be streamed and gets it all done seamlessly.
Phil, with his lectures, projection assistance, general great personality and contribution, and more is a tremendous asset to the tournament.
Mochy is the greatest ambassador of the game. In addition to participating in two lectures, Mochy had a tremendous performance weekend. He almost won the trifecta. He won the Dual-Duel, he won the Championship Division, and he lost in the semifinal of the Longhorn Classic Masters Jackpot. Against one of the strongest fields ever assembled, Mochy proved himself the champion he is.
Pierre Mendicino and Connie Riles hosted a great Super Bowl party for all. Tara and I could not do what we do without their support and assistance.
Thanks to all who made this a great tournament and a memorable weekend for all.
