Ed O - Dual duel suggestion

I have not posted here yet but the discussions about the Dual Duel Event made me do it. I completely disagree with Rod's statements that “it's silly for virtually anyone to participate in the dual-duel aside from Matt and Mochy. Just a waste of money. Steve Sax, Ed, etc had virtually no chance of winning. MCG and Mochy probably had a 90+% chance of winning between them. It's a silly competition.” There is no question that Mochy and Matt are two of the top 5 players in the world. But there are some other top players like Stick, Neil, Victor, Steve Sax, John O’Hagan, Paul Weaver, Bob Wachtel, David Rockwell, Malcolm Davis, Dana Nazarian etc. who did not compete in this event and I am absolutely confident that any of them can win Dual Duel when they play their best. Mochy did not have the best average PR in that event this year, neither did Matt. Last year Mochy was outplayed by Ray Fogerlund and the great Akiko won Dual Duel. For me personally, this is a great competition since I always try to improve and reduce my PR and I love to play against the best. I am glad that Bill Riles came up with that idea and started running Dual Duel. I like the suggestions made by Ed and Neil and hope that Rory can run a new format Dual Duel in May of this year. Petko
