I agree 100%.

My whole point in saying to eliminate the last chance isn't to prevent people from playing backgammon--it is to open up the schedule to allow for more interesting side events. Whether that is a lecture (I offered to do the first one for free as a promotion), a high entry fee, high return jackpot, different ruleset variations, another doubles, Pro/Am doubles, blitzes or 2-point quickies, the point is it should be interesting and fun.

And if you happen to be in the finals of the masters you probably don't want to be bothered with this stuff anyway.
