the old "Its lonely at the top" applies here. There are just a handful of people who have a chance to win. It makes zero sense for anyone to post up any amount of $$$ when they have no chance.

This was geared towards the top players, and that's a handful of people, ergo only 8 thought it was good value, the rest watched.

Its not complicated or a mystery why there are so few entrants.

Having said that I enjoyed watching it and think it was a great plan, however I also think the expectation of lots of entrants is a pipe dream for the reasons I just stated.

In the pool world there are similar events that only the top of the top players have a chance at winning and the same happens there, not very many players. Nobody is going to toss of their $$$-unless they are mad at their money. And I haven't met very many people who are mad at their $$$.

the numbers(PR) and names are not the issue, its the fact that there are just a few people who have a shot, and those that did took it, human nature.
